Dubai Airports owns and manages both Dubai International and Dubai World Central Airports.
The largest of the two is Dubai International Airport, or DXB, which welcomes more than 89 million passengers through its gates every year. It’s the busiest airport in the world for international passenger numbers, and also handles 2.64 million tonnes of cargo – all across 400,000 aircraft movements.
DXB began life in 1960 as a simple airfield made of compacted sand. Since then its has expanded into a world-leading airport with three terminals, two runways and a baggage system that stretches for 175km (almost as long as the M25). It has also welcomed more than a billion passengers – reaching its first 500 million after 51 years, but hitting the second 500 million in just the following seven. Today it serves more than 240 destinations across six continents, with over 100 airlines.
Purified Air supplied Dubai Airports with Electrostatic Precipitators (or ESPs) and UV systems to improve indoor air quality.
